We are back, and everyone is still alive!
5 days, 500+ miles, 3 kids, 6 adults, 2 cars, 1 log cabin...and lots of smiles!
Yes, we decided to take a family vacation. Mom, Dad, Angie, Gary, William, Casey, Scott, Jake and I packed up and headed down to Pigeon Forge, TN for a 5 day vacation! We left bright and early Friday morning and had scheduled plenty of time for potty breaks and stretching time. When we arrived, we had a 3-story log cabin waiting for us. It was simply beautiful. Each family had an entire floor to stretch out on and enjoy.
After breaking in the hot tub, we loaded back into the cars and went to the Dixie Stampede. Unsure if it was going to be any fun, William later decided it was a good time! He really enjoyed the horses, and even blushed when the dancers got up on the tables and danced right in front of him! Casey was in awe of the princesses and their light-up dresses, and Jake just enjoyed walking around! Everyone enjoyed the piglet races and ostrich races. And even though Scott had to get a new plate of food when one of the horses kicked dirt on him...(thanks for the front row seats, Ang!) everyone had a great time.
Go karts, carosel, train rides and more, Saturday morning was filled with fun. Everyone got in on the action! With the morning excitement started, we had a nice lunch in downtown Gatlinburg before heading out to Dollywood. Only half the clan went that afternoon, while a few stayed back at the cabin to grab an afternoon nap. Not to worry, William and Casey had plenty of stories to tell of their favorite rides, and all the excitement they had!
The next day, Sunday, everyone once again loaded up and headed for a full day of Dollywood fun. (Except Scott...poor guy had the stomach bug and had to stay home :( We all had a wonderful time together. The kids really enjoyed riding the rides, even Jake had a good time with his very first ride experience.
Overall, we all had a really great time. And best part...we didn't kill each other!
I guess this means we will have to do this again...sometime!
