Well-baby check up goes well

Monday afternoon, Jacob had his 2 year check up with Dr. B. After waiting very patiently in the waiting room, Jake was anxious to go back to see the doc. He stepped gracefully on the scales and totaled 29.4 pounds. That means he is in the 60% percentile for his weight. Then, he stood perfectly still under the measuring device to check his height.

I did find out that the old wives tale that says you can measure a child at 2 years old, double their height, and find out how tall he will be as an adult…is NOT always true. Jake measured only in the 10% percentile at 33 inches. At that rate, he would be 5 ft, 5 inches. (That’s shorter than me!) The doctor said that even though he is short now, he expects him to grow to be between 5’9” and 6 feet tall.

He received a good bill of health, and got out of the office without receiving any shots. He was so pleasant, and sweet to all the office staff. My boy is just growing so quick!
