Hippity Hop!

After weeks of practicing, this year Jake was ready for what the Easter bunny had in store! 3 egg hunts later, with an overflowing pail of candy and money, he was a very happy (sugar-high) boy!

Saturday before Easter, the church we have been going to, had a special kids day. Jake helped me make strawberry cupcakes to take for all his friends. We took the cupcakes un-iced, and then the kids choose which color of icing they wanted, and they got to decorate their cupcake! Pink, Light Green, Light Blue, and Yellow icing plus all kinds of sprinkles...plus juice and other candies!

After the kids were all "sugared" up, the hunt began. There were about 300 eggs and only 7 kids, so Jake did really well. Being the smallest, he was first out the door and went one direction and all the other kids went a different direction. Needless to say, his bucket was overflowing with brightly colored eggs. A pail full of candy later, and a huge sugar crash, and we were all ready for a nap!

Easter Sunday, Jake woke up to discover that the Easter bunny had visited our family room and left 36 eggs and an Elmo basket filled with toys! Since he got so much candy the day before, the Easter bunny had filled these eggs with quarters! He found all the eggs in no time, had put all his money in his bank, and we were dressed in our Sunday best - ready for church.

Grandpa Dave joined us at church, where a really nice singing group performed. After that, we headed to Grandma & Grandpa "Piggy's" house for lunch and yet another egg hunt! The food was good, but Jake was ready to get to the eggs!!! He had the entire side yard for himself. He took his time hunting the eggs, but certainly loved finding the "golden" egg! William & Casey had the fenced yard, Zach & Hannah had the back yard, and all the other adults hunted eggs in the front yard! (I can only imagine what people were thinking as they drove down State Road 36, seeing adults running around scooping up eggs!!!)

All in all, a very good Easter. Great times with family and friends, and remembering the true reason for the season. God bless!
